Audiotour Ficcional – ENG

AUDIOTOUR FICCIONAL (FICTIONAL AUDIOTOUR) (2005 – …)   The project Fictional Audiotour is an individual audio experience that uses the city as scenery for a fictional walk. The spectator walks alone with an mp3-player and headphones along the streets of a city listening to a story that turns himself into the main character and that mixes real historical facts with fiction. During the day, millions of pedestrians pass through the cities, blinded by their own commonness. Buildings, details of the city, historical points, urban art, and even their fellow residents, sharing the same urban habitat, are ignored by passersby. Pay attention to the details of our surroundings, valuing the city not just as something containing busy lives, but as the space itself, with signs and particularities that reveal and inspire, denounce and transgress, teach and refute. It is necessary to break away from the obvious view, the habitual course, with its day-to-day alienation, to rethink the city and appreciate its heritage, both tangible and intangible. The audience plays an important role; they are transformed from passive spectators to the protagonists in their own adventure, in an urban scene with characters (real or fictional?) who also intervene in the game.   Since 2005 we have created numerous works in the form of a Fictional Audiotour. Each one is unique and non-transferable to another place. Each realization takes about a month of work, with extensive research on the place where it is performed, its own script and a specially composed soundtrack. We did the following different Fictional Audiotour works, most of them in Portuguese or Spanish. But amongst them you can find here a link to the ones that have also an English version: – “Grãos de História” (Grains of history). Part of the programme of the project “100 anos de histórias” which celebrates the centenary of the premises K.K.K.K., historical heritage of the Valley Vale do Ribeira, SESC Registro, SP (Brazil). 2023. – O Homen do Chapeu. No muy Vian – ENG

No muy Vian (Not very Vian) (2017- 2018)   The piece has its starting point in the texts of the Frenchman Boris Vian, the skits of the German comedian Loriot and the films of the Finnish director Aki Kaurismäki, and weaves these influences into an unusual story. During the development of the piece, the work also dealt with the investigation of intertextuality, minimalism in acting and humor. Enrique, an artist who considers himself a genius, suffers a major crisis after being given a bad critique and decides to commit suicide. But since he does not manage to kill himself, he eventually signs a contract killer. A short time later, however, he meets a woman and falls in love with her. UTOPÍA – ENG

UTOPÍA Experiencia interactiva para bibliotecas (Utopia – Interactive experience for libraries) (2018 – …)   In a world very similar to our own, cultural centres, libraries and other public spaces are being closed down to turn them into profitable spaces such as shopping malls, parking lots, etc. In a library, Horacio and Alicia, two library users who are very different from each other, leave a recording in which they ask their friends (a role played by the audience) to follow their steps as they investigate a disturbing message they have received – which appears to have been sent by the library itself: it finds itself in grave danger, faced with immediate closure, and asks for help from users. The clues lead them to make contact with an organization called “The Utopian International” as well as embarking on their search for “The Book” which contains instructions on how they can save the library. The clues are found in a series of texts in the library and in various objects that the friends (participants/audience) find along their way. In the course of the work the public cross paths with mysterious characters who roam the library. Some are members of the “International Utopista” organization, while others are inspectors who want to close the library. The spectators/participants’ journey is an utopian-fantastic trip through the universe of the library, its books and characters. “Utopia – interactive experience for libraries” is an interactive sound performance in an unconventional space. It is set in libraries and consists of an experience for a group of 2 spectators who, using headphones, listen to a fictional character who gives them instructions to follow. The spectators are guided by this audio voice and led to discover clues in different books, illustrations, objects, etc. as well as meeting enigmatic characters in the library.   This work received the award “Premio a la Creación y Producción Teatral Independiente – Convocatoria a las Artes Escénicas 2017“, the incentive fund “Fondo Estímulo a la Actividad Teatral Cordobesa – EDICIÓN 2017/18” and the production subsidy 2018 from the National Theatre Institute   Aimed at a young/adolescent and adult audience.   Presentations: – Library “Biblioteca Popular Arturo Orgaz” within the programm of Ciclo INTervenciones Escénicas “A cielo abierto”, organized by the National Theatre Institute INT, Córdoba (Arg.).
